Rev. Robbie Murden was born and raised a United Methodist. He is a 1990 graduate of D’Iberville High School and 1995 graduate of Mississippi State University with a degree in Chemical Engineering. While serving God as a full-time Youth Minister at St. Paul UMC in Ocean Springs, he answered his call to ordained ministry in 2002 and received his Master of Divinity Degree from Duke University in 2005. Robbie has served several churches across the MS Annual Conference since returning in 2005.

Robbie is married to Kristy Murden who is called to be a pastor’s wife every bit as much as he is a called to be a pastor. They have two children, Jaci and Rhett. Robbie and his family were excited to be appointed to Crossgates UMC in 2023. After the 2020-2024 General Conference, Crossgates UMC as well as Robbie and his family spent the summer discerning to stay with the UMC or to exit. The separate discernment led to a decision for both Crossgates Church family and Robbie and his family to exit the UMC, but both parties wanted to remain together in ministry to, with, and for the Lord. In 2025, Robbie Murden became the first pastor of Crossgates Methodist Church.
