What We Believe

We believe in one God who is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and who is the maker of heaven and earth.

We believe Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God and that He became incarnate for our salvation. (See Romans 10:9.)

We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired word of God and seek to base our faith and actions upon its teachings. It contains everything that is “necessary and sufficient for salvation.”

We recognize these two sacraments of the church that are outward and visible signs of the inward and spiritual grace offered by God. Baptism, using water as the outward sign, washes away our original sin and is a symbol of God claiming us into the body of Christ. In Holy Communion, as we receive the bread and juice, we experience the holy mystery of Jesus’ real presence with us. Celebrating the Lord’s Supper together nourishes and sustains us in our journey as disciples of Jesus Christ.

We believe in the foundational truths declared in the Nicene Creed and Apostles’ Creed and seek to base our faith and actions on their tenets.

We believe our salvation through Jesus Christ results from God’s incarnation in Jesus, God’s redeeming love demonstrated through Jesus’ life, crucifixion, death, and resurrection.

We believe we are called “. . . to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit . . .” (See Matthew 28:19 – 20.)

We believe we live into the Great Commission by being a "Christian Community growing in love of God and neighbor through worship, study, and service.”
