Ministries at Crossgates Methodist Church

This a group of men that fellowship on Wednesday morning at 9am in the CAC. They share bagels, coffee and what’s going on at the church and around the community.

This group forms in the spring and offers an opportunity for 4 or 5 of our church families to share a few meals together in order to get to know each other better.

This is a monthly book club that meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 11:45 am to share the latest book they choose to read together.

A group of women that fellowship and study together as well as support mission and outreach to the community. They meet on the second Tuesday of each month in the Banquet room in the CAC at 9:30 am.

This men’s group provides a time of fellowship and learning for all the men of the church. In addition, their goal is to offer support to the church through service to our members and the community. They meet on the first Thursday of the month at 6 pm in the banquet room in the CAC.

Forever Young meets on the first Thursday of the month at 11 am in the Banquet room in the CAC. They share a meal and have special speakers each month on a variety of topics. They also will have an occasional day trip serval time a year.

This group meets quarterly for a two-day workshop at the church, usually on Friday and Saturday mornings. They make pillowcases, aprons, and fidget pads to give out to groups like Camp Kamossa and a few of the nursing homes. No sewing skills necessary just a servant’s heart and helping hands.

Meets monthly to work on prayer quilts. These beautiful quilts are then prayed over during our worship service and given to a person in need from the church or community.

There are a variety of study groups that meet at the church as well. These groups may do a short-term book study that focuses on faith issues or maybe a short-term bible study. These groups meet at various times throughout the year.

Our choir leads us in singing in worship on Sunday mornings and prepares a special music selection for each service. They practice on Wednesday nights at 6 pm after our family meal at 5:30 pm.

Durning the school year, we have a Wednesday night family meal and study time. We gather at 5:30 pm for the meal (cost is $7 for adults free for kids and youth). Then we break out into groups at 6pm. There is a pastor lead bible study, choir, mom’s study and support group, youth and kids’ programs and a nursery.

Our mission team meets monthly to distribute our mission funds (10% of the monthly offering). We support a few of our church missions, local and statewide missions as well as a few global missions.
